How did we select this Harvest Hosts stay?
We recently stopped at the Harvest Hosts D.H. Lescombes Winery & Tasting Room (formerly St. Clair Winery & Tasting Room). It is located at 7075 Hwy 549 SE, Deming, NM 88030. This is right off Hwy 10, near the Silver City KOA and Gila National Forest.

We decided the first days adventure would be hiking the Gila Catwalks The second day would be visiting the Gila Cliff Dwellers houses. Wow! We were stoked! New Mexico is a beautiful state!
Once we know the area we will be staying a few days in for EXPLORING, we are in the habit now of checking to see if any Harvest Hosts are in the area for RELAXING at a day prior to reverting back into “tourist” mode.
Sure enough, right off Hwy 10 in Deming, New Mexico was the D.H. Lescombes Winery & Tasting Room. This winery would put us only one hour away from the Silver City KOA we would be staying at for three days to have full hookups at.
What does a Harvest Hosts location have to offer?
We visited this winery during the tail end of the tourist season on Wednesday 10-21-20. Covid-19 protocols where still in place. The Wine Tasting Room was serving 23 selected wines of the season. The Cafe was open with a “reduced” variety of salads, appetizers, hot sandwiches and desserts for outdoor dining. Tours of the winery itself were temporarily suspended due to Covid until further notice.
You could see by the way the grounds were set up that this Harvest Hosts could hold GIANT social functions and had a large stage area for musical events. Pre Covid, every Friday evening, they offered live music and by-the-glass wine specials on their beautiful lawn and patio area.
I expect at night the romantic lighting must be magical! If it’s chilly outside, everyone can gather in the event center. Have a great time with local bands, singers, and songwriters when things return back to “the new normal”.
